The ICT industry is massive world wide, it's huge in New Zealand and 'big time' here in Canterbury. We are regarded as New Zealand's high-tech hub. Canterbury ICT companies contribute $1.4
billion to the national economy each year and employ over 3,000 staff. This means that approximately 10 out of every 100 people in Canterbury are involved in the ICT industry.
What are the Career Prospects in ICT?
The demand for qualified ICT people will continue to increase over time. In Canterbury our industry sources predict a major increase in the number of employees required in the electronics and software sectors. And these are just
the opportunities on our home patch without even taking into account the what's on offer throughout the rest of New Zealand and overseas.

How Good is the Money?
