Qualification Content
The courses are delivered through a combination of tutor-directed study, self-directed research and a series of mini-projects. Your abilities will be
assessed from small web projects youll create during the year and a larger project that simulates a real-world business web application.
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Microsoft Visual C# (C Sharp) are used as the platforms for project development along with Visual Database Tools for database
development.
Over the course of the year you will develop expertise in:

- Programming in C# (C Sharp)
- Overview of the .NET Framework
- Developing ASP .NET web applications
- Integrating data in web applications with ADO .NET
- Enhancing web applications with JavaScript and AJAX

Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition is a comprehensive development environment intended for individual developers to build high-performance, multi-tier applications. This platform
hosts and integrates a suite of software development tools in which developers can productively build a wide variety of Windows, Web, mobile, and Office-based solutions.
Visual Database Tools
Used within Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 to create dynamic, data-enabled applications using an integrated data access, design, and reporting environment.
Microsoft MCTS Certification Exams
The Microsoft external exams for MCTS certification are comprehensive and are beyond the scope and time frame of this qualification. However, this qualification provides a good platform of knowledge and skills in these subjects for
you to continue working towards your certification after graduation with self-directed study.
