Network Systems Administrator

Network Systems Administrators, also known as SysAdmins, Network Operations Technicians or Systems Support Engineers, are experts in the use of a particular range of software applications or operating systems.

They often work for large organisations, helping other workers to understand the software and use it efficiently. These people may also be employed by software manufacturers or distributors to provide client and consumer help desk support. They must have excellent communication and people skills.

Many consumer software developers such as Microsoft and Lotus have special 'certification' training programmes for their products, often provided by third party training institutions. Certification validates a user's level of competence with a particular version of a software package, operating system, or network system.
