Network Systems Engineer / Technician

Network Systems Engineers, also known as Network Systems Technicians or Systems Support Engineers, are experts in the design and implementation of a particular range of software applications or systems.

They often work for large organisations, ensuring that networks, operating systems and installed software function smoothly, efficiently and securely. They must have excellent communication and people skills.

Many consumer software developers such as Microsoft and Lotus have special 'certification' training programmes for their products, often provided by third party training institutions. Certification validates a user's level of competence with a particular version of a software package, operating system, or network system.
