Run-up Technicians, Test Technicians and Quality Control Technicians are
some of the titles given to technicians who work for an equipment manufacturer. Their job is to calibrate,
test, repair and monitor the quality control of the companies' products during the manufacturing process.
These technicians usually start at 'entry level' and are given experience in a variety of jobs in the
manufacturing process to acquire in-depth knowledge of the products and the manufacturing
technology.
During this time they will be expected to work well in a team environment
and demonstrate their technical ability for advancement to higher levels. Most often these technicians are
involved in 'leading edge' technology and will develop expertise and skills that enhance their career
advancement opportunities in other vocations.
